🍁 Veterans Walkway Opens Saturday on Memorial Drive

Calgary is getting a new way to honour the people who served. The Veterans Walkway officially opens Saturday, Oct 17, with a ceremony at 2 PM at the Calgary Soldiers' Memorial. The interactive path runs about 5 km from Mewata Armoury along Memorial Drive to the George C. King pedway bridge, with 31 bronze medallions in the pavement. Each one unlocks stories through a free companion app launching the same day, with more than 100 stories in English, French, Punjabi and Mandarin. It's open year-round after the ceremony, so lace up and walk a stretch this weekend. A beautiful, lasting gift to the city.

💃 Dreams of Bollywood World Premiere Hits Jack Singer

Saturday night is going to be loud, colourful and brand new. Dreams of Bollywood is a Calgary Phil world premiere at Jack Singer Concert Hall at 7:30 PM, blending the full orchestra with Bollywood vocals, dance and newly commissioned works alongside classics from A.R. Rahman, Pritam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and more. Choreographer Rameez Karim and conductor Daniel Black lead the cast, with vocals from Vidita Kanniks and Reeshabh Purohit. Tickets run $34 to $114. 🦫 Free Beaver Fest Takes Over North Glenmore

Yes, really. Calgary Beaver Fest lands Saturday, Oct 17, from 12:30 PM to 6 PM at Vista Point in North Glenmore Park, and it's free for all ages.
